Indiana Flyfishing Guides
Indiana Fly Fishing Guides runs flyfishing float trips and wade trips on the finest rivers in Indiana. Join us to float or wade our "Indiana home waters". Fly fishing trips for Smallmouth Bass and Trout! I am a licensed Indiana guide and carry adequate guide insurance to protect us all.
We run fly fishing float trips and wade trips on Indiana rivers, including:
West Fork of the White River - Flyfishing float trips on the White River northeast of Indianapolis near Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, Clare, Strawtown and Perkinsville. It is a beautiful Smallmouth Bass fishery convenient to the Indianapolis area. You only have to see it "between the bridges" to realize what a nice river we have right here in our own backyard. More info
Tippecanoe River - The "Tippi" below Oakdale Dam is a warmwater tailwater with a very diverse population of fish. A typical day on the Tippecanoe can yield a wide variety of different of species of fish in a wide variety of sizes. It is bigger water than the other rivers we float, and since it is dam-controlled the flow changes can be drastic, so it is not a consistent fishery, but the good days can be really fun and we can always find something taking flies. More info
Brookville Tailwater - One of Indiana's trout success stories, the Brookville tailwater (East Fork of the Whitewater River) flows out of the bottom of Brookville Reservoir. Its cold waters support Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout that feed year-round. Enjoy nymphing, wet fly fishing, occasional dry fly fishing and streamer fishing while wading for tailwater trout. More info
Eagle Creek - The Town of Zionsville, IN has started stocking trout in Eagle Creek. This has created a nice little fall/winter fishery. I run instructional flyfishing wade trips on Eagle Creek to help anglers learn the ways of trout and the techniques used to catch them.
To protect the fish and the anglers, we practice catch and release fly fishing ONLY and require the use of barbless flies.

Guide Program Affiliation:
I am very proud to use and recommend Orvis flyfishing equipment. For me, the choice of a company to endorse and put my trust in is about more than just "rods n reels". Of course, great flyfishing equipment is an important part of the equation, and Orvis has great equipment. But how the company treats it's employees, it's customers and the world at large is just as important. For the 35 years I have been flyfishing I have never had a negative experience with Orvis. In every interaction as a customer, a guide and a fly tyer, Orvis has been fair, honest, reasonable and generous. I guess that is why they have been in business since 1856.
Orvis is my choice for many great reasons:
A local presence in the Indianapolis area - Our local Orvis store in Clay Terrace Mall in Carmel, Indiana is my "go-to" flyshop for great service and friendly people willing to share information and education.
Great flyfishing equipment - Orvis leads innovation in creating new equipment at all pricing all levels, from value-priced rigs like the Clearwater series to the top-of-the-line H3 fly rods, great reels, fly lines, waders/boots, clothing, and accessories. Many of Orvis' products are American made, including their rods, reels, and flylines. More info...
Fly fishing education - Orvis continues to help flyfishers develop their skills with free programs such as Flyfishing 101, 201, and 301, free fly tying classes, online videos, podcasts, etc., as well as classes focused specifically to attract women to flyfishing.
Warranty - Orvis "invented" the 25 year rod warranty. They stand up for every product they sell, take responsibility when a product doesn't perform up to their standards, and treat the customer like family.
Charity - Orvis has a comprehensive "Put your money where your mouth is" charity program, commiting 5% of pre-tax profits to protecting nature as well as supporting charities that are close to my heart, such as Project Healing Waters, Casting for Recovery, etc. - More info...
